Taurus II is a great minute instrumental with some interesting musical passages and a nice combination ofbeautiful and haunting melodies

Often considered pretentious cheesy and boring some of the music here is fairly demanding of the listener and theproduction which has s pop firmly stamped all over it certainly makes the album feel somewhat dated
Either way while I doubt theres many people whod consider thisone of his best its still a solid release and well worth looking into if youre into progressive rock or s pop. Its not Mikes fault that it became so overplayed. Itsnothing fancy and the lyrics make no sense to me but its catchy nonetheless. Overall this is only just a step up from Hergest Ridge and even then its much too similar for my liking. On a pop site it would easily be worth four stars so why not give three stars here for the masterful and prettycharming pop song. Oldfield hasbeen one of my biggest musical inspirations so I know better things are coming but I think Ommadawn is an albumthat Ill probably never come back to. While the music is certainly well written setting a nice atmosphereand progresses interestingly while maintaining a similar theme throughout I just struggle to stay engaged all the waythrough
At least five minutes of itis just a smorgasbord of noise and by the time that dissipates all interest is gone. There is so much good music in this world and even plenty of interesting bad music. Voila MOR on the rocks. The album is good. For starters Tatai vár theres acoustic rockerssuch as Shadow on the Wall and Moonlight Shadow which would go on to be a huge hit for Oldfield showing thatthere was definitely still potential for időkép mainstream success after Tubular Bells.
